Membership Plans and Listings Association

A relational database model was implemented to associate membership plans with the corresponding listings. Each listing owner was linked to their respective membership plan through unique identifiers. This association enabled the platform to retrieve membership information and sort listings accordingly.

Optimized MySQL Queries

The development team designed and implemented complex MySQL queries to retrieve the required data efficiently. These queries utilized join operations, filters, and sorting parameters to fetch listings based on membership plan attributes. The platform could handle large datasets by optimizing the queries without compromising performance.

Sorting Algorithm

A sorting algorithm was developed to prioritize and display listings based on membership plans. The algorithm considered factors such as membership type, status, and additional sorting parameters like rating or popularity. This ensured premium members received enhanced visibility, helping users identify and choose wedding professionals based on their membership type.

Functions for Data Calculation

The development team created functions to calculate relevant data to facilitate accurate sorting and display of membership-based listings. For example, functions were designed to calculate the rating of a listing based on user reviews, the duration of membership, or the number of completed projects. These functions contributed to the overall ranking and visibility of listings.

Implemented automated email/SMS workflows and integrated GoHighLevel CRM to re-engage inactive customers and improve long-term retention.

Challenges We Faced

Membership-Based Listing Prioritization

One of the primary challenges during the development of WeddingPuzzle was implementing a system that could sort listings according to the membership plans of wedding professionals. The platform needed to ensure that higher-tier members received better visibility compared to basic members.

Complex Sorting Logic Implementation

Creating a dynamic sorting mechanism was technically demanding. The system had to evaluate multiple factors such as membership type, subscription status, and expiration dates to determine the correct order of listings in real time.

Fair Visibility Distribution

While prioritizing premium members was essential, the team also had to maintain fairness across the platform. The challenge was to balance promotional visibility for paid members without completely overshadowing standard members.

Automation Timing & Workflow Dependencies

Coordinating bios, SMS/email alerts, and review requests across multiple APIs needed precise validation to avoid failures or duplicate sends.
